Main Character

The main character in the book I am reading currently is David Pezler. David is a very scrawny boy with brown hair and tattered clothing. His shoes have holes in them and his pants and shirt are torn to piece, but his mother does not feel the need to buy him new clothes. David lives in very severe conditions where he is not considered a part of the family. He is covered in bruises, cuts, burn marks, and he even has a scar from being stabbed. His mothers abuses physically, mentally, and emotionally and David has to fight for himself. David is a strong individual who overcame the extraordinary struggles he encountered, however he was very hungry and skinny. As a punishment, his mother would deprive him of food for days which led him to stealing food from other kids at school. David would soon pay for his actions when he returned home because the school would call his mother and inform her of what her child has done.
